Some of you might have noticed that the Picture of the Week (or two) has been
on a summer hiatus over the month of August. Well, I've just recently returned
from a quite enjoyable journey to Helena, Montana, where I had the immense
pleasure of partaking in a very delightful unveiling party for my most recently
completed portrait commission. In recognition of that event, I have decided
that the time has finally come to present a picture of the finished portrait!

(A Portrait of Russ and Beth Cargo)
Some paintings are more challenging than others, and this particular commission
became affectionately known as The Painting That Tried to Kill Me. One and
one half years in the making, this canvas put me through some ordeals that
did almost kill me! In the long run, the experience made me stronger.
