THIS WEEK'S FOCUS: THE EAST LAWRENCE BLOCK PARTY
I was in Lawrence, Kansas, over the past weekend, where I attended the block party
for my old neighborhood. I took very few pictures, but I did get several fun shots.

POET IN A BOX
Attendees were urged to provide a subject, turn the handle, and
out of the box would appear a hand-written, original poem!

TRASHY HAT
Here's a close up of the "hat" worn by the fellow strolling in the
background of the first photo. K.T. Walsh organized
the hat-making booth for children of all ages.

ZIPPY'S CHROME PLATED PHONOGRAPH
Zippy -- a Lawrence fixture -- provided vintage music for the early portion
of the block party, on this classic Califone turntable/amplifier set.
